April-May Recap!!!

Well, I have finally done it!!! As of March 21st, I have graduated with my Associates in Elementary Education. I am now able to substitute teach and be a teacher's assistant :) It has been a long road, but it has been well worth it! I can't wait till my first day subing, nor can I wait till I finally get to teach my own class in my own classroom! I have been dreaming about this day, but can't help but wonder if it will ever come :) I am on the sub list to start subing the 2010-2011 school year and I start working on my Bachelor's Degree at the end of June...YEA!!!

April:

Nothing really happened in April, except for tons and tons of rain :) It has not been a very good spring at all so far with all the rain and cold temps, but I look forward to it warming up soon. Other than a few birthdays, April has been a very quiet month. Happy birthday Malachi, Gavin, Amber, and mom!!!

May:

It is May!!! The girls enrolled for pre-school on the third! It is so hard to believe that my babies are enrolling in pre-school! Sometimes I just feel like time has gone by so fast and they shouldn't be this old already :) I look back and through all the crap we went through throughout those years, I can't seem to remember watching them get to this point :(

May also brought more rain :( The kids spent the remainder of the school year having inside recess and cold/rainy weather :) The kids are excited about their summer vacation, even though we don't have much planned this year. We are sticking to Missouri for one more year and next year we plan to go to Sea World in Texas. The kids are looking forward to that trip and keep asking if they will get to see whales, sting rays, and dolphins :) I hope to let them swim with the dolphins, but not sure if I will flip the bill on that or not :) lol

Got the pool set up and the kids have been playing in it everyday for as long as I will let them :)

Well, May is almost over and June is on the way. Not sure what we will be doing to keep us busy, but I am sure that not a single day of summer will be wasted :) Have a good one everyone!!!

January-March Recap!

January

2010 has come!!! Happy New Year to all! It is hard to believe that it is already 2010. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that Quentin will be 8 in Feb. and Zachery turns 6 in March. What's even harder to believe is that my babies are turning 4 in July and start pre-school in August! How can all of this have happened in what seems like such a short time ? :) ? What is sad, is that 2010 will be gone before we know it and we will be waiting for yet another big year of events :)

Anyway, we celebrated New Year's with family. The kids played the Wii most of the night and the adults played poker...big shocker, I lost :) Dan and James kept us entertained taking Tequila shots...all in good fun! As always we missed the actual ball drop, because of the time delay, but we counted down the New Year for real a little late, but 2010 came anyway! Hope everyone has a good year!

February

February brought another Valentine's Day, another birthday for Quentin, another year together for James' and I. We have been together for 7 years now and with each passing year I laugh in the faces of all who once doubted us. All who said "they'll never last." Jokes on them, cause we are still together and still going strong! Here's to another 20 years baby!!!

Quentin had his fist sleepover party this year and it was a great success!! His theme was Underwater Adventure and the kids had a blast painting, playing games, eating, and watching movies. He had 8 friends invited and 4 of those 8 stayed over night. They chowed down on pizza, popcorn, candy, and tons of movies, making for a late night! Happy Birthday buddy!

March

March brought us another year for Zachery and he too had a party. He wanted a sleepover as well, but we decided that he needed to wait a few more years for him and his friends to get a little older. He had an Army themed party that was planned for outside, but got rained out and pushed indoors. It turned out pretty well even without the sunshine :)

Coming up...April showers bring more May showers :)

October-December Recap!

October:

Last time I posted was in October and a lot has happened since then! First off the kids had a great Halloween! I hosted Quentin's school party and the kids had a blast! They did some arts and crafts, ate tons of snacks and candy, and played games! The kids seemed to really enjoy the Skeleton relay race. They split into two teams and raced to a tub at the end of the course to hunt through spiderwebs, rats, spiders, millipedes, and other various creatures to find there peices to the skeleton puzzle. Once the found the peices, they had to build their skeletons properly. First team done, wins! Quentin happened to be on the winning team, but I promise I had nothing to do with that :) They kids enjoyed taking all the little creatures home with them at the end :)

Then came Halloween night and of course we got dressed up and went trick-or-treating like many others. Since James wasn't home I had to get four kids ready by myself. Challenging, but by the end I had a beautiful Snow White, Gorgeous Hannah Montana, scary Bear, and creative Wall-E. They looked absoulutley wonderful!!!

November:

Not to much happened in November other than the kids growing as I blink and our typical family get together for Thanksgiving :) We had the usual, turkey and ham, scalloped potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, green bean casserole, an assortment of desserts, and so much more! It's always nice to get together with family and show the kids how important family is and just hang out and have fun :)

December:

December brought on Christmas, but before Christmas could come, I had to host yet another school party for Quentin's class. Again, they had a great time playing games, building a bobblehead snowman frame, and eating all the goodies brought in. As I continue to put on parties, it gets harder and harder to come up with new ideas that I haven't used last year or the year before (since I have been Quentin's room mother for three years), but no matter what I plan the kids always enjoy themselves and it make it all worth it to see them relaxing and having so much fun!

Then come Christmas! We spend Christmas the same way every year, with family! Christmas Eve we all gathered once again for a great night of food, games, and presents :) Over the past years, some in our family have gone kinda hog wild with the gift giving part :) It would not be shocking for each of my kids to come home with 20+ gifts, plus what they get on Christmas from us and Santa, so this year we decided that the only people getting gifts would be the kids and they were limited on how many! It was great! Nobody got bored opening presents for two hours and parents dind't have to sell off their estates to make room for the abundance of gifts :)

The next morning, Santa made a visit to our house and brought Quentin a Monty Rex, Zachery a RC race car, Kierstyn a giant doll house, and Kariana an Easel. They also got about 7 presents each from mom and dad, ranging from little cars and dinosaurs to giant baby doll sets. They all loved their Christmas and were very polite, making sure to thank everyone for their presents :)

Up next...Ringing in 2010 and yet another day of love!

Wall-E

Zachery's Wall-E costume is finally finished after James decided to be his nit picky self and add in every detail of Wall-E.

Wall-E's body and wheels are made out of a a couple cardboard boxes, the neck is made from a paper towel role, the roach out of a toilet paper role, and the eyes out of a couple mini pringles cans. As they say, "One mans trash is another mans treasure," and we took it literally!

James crafted up the whole costume, includeing a candy compartment in the belly, and even did some of the painting (when I allowed him too :). I detail painted and bada bing bada bang, we have a Wall-E.
